A.    Basic Competencies and Standars Competency
Standards of competence :
Understanding and perform arithmetic operations numbers in problem solving.
Basic Competence:
Know fractions and perform operations of fractions number
B.     Learning Outcome Indicators
• Able to compare fractions
• Can sort the fractions
C.     Comparing and Ordering Fractions
Issue 1:
Suppose the election were held in your society Chairman and obtained the following results.
1/5 of the number of residents choosing Candidate A.
2/7  of the number of residents choosing B
Prospective Which is more voters? Candidate A or Candidate B? Do you feel you have to compare fractions? Of course you get that you have two Problems 2: comparing fractions whose the same denominators. Consider the following two fractions.
1/7  and 2/7 From these two fractions, can you conclude that 2/7 >1/7. You can use line diagram.

How do you put the location of two fractions? Note that:
1/7 means a one-seventh's, and 2/7 means the second one-seventh.
So explain why 2/7 > 1/7

Issues 3: compare fractions whose are different denominators.
Consider the following line chart:

Which is larger,3/8 or ½ ? To answer that question we can use the model fractions of several large units and extensive parts such as:

 3/8                                                                  ½ = 4/8

By considering the image above, it is clearly that ½  greater than 3/8. Which fraction is greater? (Note is the denominator and numerator of the fraction of new forms). Do you know the reason why 1/3 > ¼ and 5/8 >4/8 ? In the process of comparing the two fractions at the top, whether you have using less common multiple (KPK) of fraction denominator.

Issues 4: Compare the fractions 1/5 and 3/7
What to do:Phase I:Determining the less common multiple of each denominator.
Multiples of 5 are 5, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, etc.
Multiples of 7 are 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, etc.
So what is the less common multiple of 5 and 7?Phase II: Determine the fraction with a denominator of 35 is equivalent to 1/5 and is equivalent to 3/7. If the fraction is equivalent to 1/5 is x/35, what is the value of x? Easy to find that the value of x is ................So 1/5 is equal with............ In the same way whether  can you determine that the fraction 3/7 is equal with............. Phase III: Comparing fractions 7/35 and 15/35 fractions. Since the denominator is same then stayed compare numerator. We easily get that 15/35 > 7/35. Now whether: 3/7 >1/5
Issues 5: with determine the less common multiple compare 7/16 and 15/40.
Take these steps
 16 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2
40 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 5
Commission of 16 and 40 is 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 = 80.
Fraction 7/16 is equal with........Fractions ............ is equal with 30/80. So ......... greater than 30/80. Conclusion .......... > 15/40
Issues 6: compare this fraction 13/15 , 9/10, 11/20, 3/5
do this step:
5          = 5
10        = 2 x 5
15        = 3 x 5
20        = 2 x 2 x 5
So the Less Common Multiple of 5, 10, 15, and 20 is 2 x 2 x 3 x 5 = 60. Then obtained 13/15 is equal with 52/60 9/10 is equal with 54/60. 11/20 is equal with 33/60
3/5 is equal with 36/60 So how then the sequence of 13/15, 9/10, 11/20, 3/5?
D.    Your conclusions?
Do you conclude the following? Discuss To compare some of the fractions whose denominators the same, simply by comparing the numerator. If the numerator is greater then the fractions were also more great. If you compare two fractions then you're determine which of the two broken pieces of a larger or smaller. Determining the number larger or smaller than some number sort the numbers say. If you would sort the fractions whose denominators the same, then sequence of the fragments based on the sequence of the numerator. But if the fragments to be sequenced has a different denominator, then first you must determine the same value fraction.
